Onward

Several years ago, I fell down a small flight of stairs on my way to a funeral for my uncle. With a severely damaged right ankle, I powered through the injury for a while before it got the best of me. In severe pain much of the time, my lifestyle became more and more sedentary. In fact, two different orthopedists told me I may never be able to walk for exercise again due to the excessive swelling that it created in my ankle. In late November 2012, I had ankle surgery and in September 2013, I decided it was time to get my life, health and body back in order.

My name is Laura Miles. Welcome to my blog, "Miles to go ..."

I have miles to go before I sleep ... I hope you will enjoy following my journey.

“Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”
By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sounds the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
